SMOKY MOUNTAINS AREA HORSEBACK RIDING

     What better way to see the Smokies than on horseback in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!  Select various Horseback Riding Facilities  (below and left) and we'll do our best to show you some of the BEST locations in our area for your enjoyment!      

     About 550 miles of the Park's hiking trails are open to horses. There are five horse camps: Anthony Creek, Big Creek, Cataloochee, Roundbottom, and Towstring. Use of the horse camps requires a reservation.

DOUGLAS LAKEVIEW STABLES: Ride around the shores of Douglas Lake.  Beautiful views overlooking the Cherokee Valley. Our trails will delight anyone from the newest beginner to the more experienced rider. We offer something for everyone. Our rides range in length from 1 hour up to 4 hours. Longer tours can be booked by advance reservation. Our regular hours of operation are 8am to 5pm. Rides leave every hour, on the hour. Walk-ins are welcome, although we recommend calling ahead to reserve your preferred time. Sunset or Moonlight rides can be booked by advance reservation.
