Just bring a change of clothes and get ready to get wet! We provide all the equipment you need and we recommend tennis shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt or bathing suits. When you arrive, after signing a liability waiver, we bus you up the river to the point where your adventure will begin

     Pigeon River Upper Section 6.5 Miles: This is an exciting 6 1/2 mile trip down class 3 and 4 rapids. We take a 10 minute bus ride to the Progress Energy powerhouse, better known as the Put-in. From there you'll spend 2 hours on the river. Our certified Guides will navigate your boat the entire trip. Big waves, big drops and plenty of surfing will assure that you have the time of your life. But never fear the Big Pigeon River is for the inexperienced and experienced paddlers. On your trip down the scenic river you'll get to run about 70 rapids ranging from class 1 to class 4

     Scenic Lower Section 5.5 Miles: This is a much calmer guided trip where you can take in the beauty of the Smoky Mountains that surround you. The lower section is perfect for the little kids. It's a 5 1/2 mile trip through the scenic Pigeon River gorge. This adventure begins at the outpost and ends at the Denton Bridge. From there we bus you back up to the outpost. During your trip you will run about 50 class 1 and 2 rapids with one class 3 at the end. So if you're looking for something with a little less speed, this trip is for you.

     Safety: Safety is our #1 goal. All guides are certified in Standard First Aid and CPR. An Emergency Medical Technician (trip leader) accompanies every trip. Each guide is put through a rigorous training program that requires a minimum of 15 to 20 trips down the river before even qualifying to run a commercial trip. Many tryout, but few make the staff. Before each trip, everyone is given a 20 minute safety talk, This is to better prepare you and your family for a safe and enjoyable river experience. Our reputation for safety is one of the highest in the southeast and we're working harder everyday to make it even better.

     Funyaks: (Lower Pigeon River Only) These are the latest boasts offered on the Pigeon River. Our Funyaks are designed to be super stable. They handle rapids well and the pontoon design tracks straight on swift or open water. The Funyaks family of watercraft are perfect for fun lovers of all ages. This boat is designed to be handled by the most novice of all boaters and non-boaters. It's ideal for mom, dad and the kids. This is something everyone should try. Call it a way to get closer to the river. All trips are guided through the beautiful scenic river. The only difference is, you get to drive your own boat. The guides personally escort you down the river. You're taught different ways to approach and play in the rapids. Surfing, spinning and sliding are just a few things you learn. So give it a try.
